As a Coach & Mentor, I worked with groups & individuals to empower & facilitate positive development. Mainly with artists, performers & groups in creative industries and education, but have also had executive clients and business teams. Unlocking creative potential & sharing skills to solve problems & think effectively. Using Counselling skills and the late great David Grove’s Clean Space & Emergent Knowledge, as I was one of the lucky ones who got to spend time with him in training.

2001 – 2004 Worked as a part-time Stress Counsellor a Holistic Therapy Practice. Whilst studying Counselling at Hull Uni
1999 – 2004 Trained as a person-centred Counsellor at Hull University and The Open College. Counselling Skills & Theory Cert’s Level 1, 2, 3 & Dip Couns.
1993 – 1996 Trained as a JNC Qualified Community & Youth Worker at The University of Humberside including 6 months counselling work placement at YICU (The Youth Information & Counselling Unit).
1993 – 2010 Employed as Social Education Worker/Community & Youth Arts Worker at Hull Youth Service. Whilst training part-time at West Yorkshire Arts.
1979 – 2002 Trained in Zen Meditation as part of traditional Japanese Samurai Arts, which sparked my interest in the thought process, mental training and coaching for facing challenges. Achieved Black Belt 2nd Dan Instructors position in UK, lifetime membership of The World Martial Arts Association & 3rd Dan Black Belt in USA and was featured Instructor in Martial Arts Illustrated December 2002. Worked as Hull Area Rep for the Self Defense Federation for 2 years. Trained in Las Vegas with Sijo Frank, before specialising solely in the mental skills of martial arts training and Buddhist philosophy.
As an NLP Practitioner and Therapist, I had regular supervision with Isabelle Tracy (Master Practitioner & NLP Trainer) at VOLCOM.
